Year 2 Teacher – Garston
Are you an experienced and dedicated Year 2 Teacher looking for an exciting new opportunity starting in January?

Desian Education is proud to be working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Garston, which is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 2 Class Teacher to join their team from January until the end of the summer term.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident practitioner who is passionate about primary education, can inspire young learners, and is committed to helping every child reach their full potential. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons, create a positive and inclusive learning environment, and support pupils as they continue to develop their knowledge and skills during this important stage of their education.

The school welcomes applications from teachers on MPS 2–MPS 6.

As the Year 2 Class Teacher, you will:
Plan and deliver creative, engaging, and differentiated lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
Create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.
Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, ensuring all children receive appropriate support and challenge.
Prepare pupils effectively for end-of-Key Stage 1 assessments and support their continued academic development.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents to promote positive learning outcomes.
Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attainment, and personal development.
Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development, ensuring every child feels valued and included.
The successful candidate will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Proven experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally in a Year 2 classroom.
A strong understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and relevant assessment requirements.
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of learners of all abilities.
A commitment to raising standards and achieving the best possible outcomes for every pupil.
Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one.
