Year 6 Class Techer – January Start

Desian Education is delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and high-achieving primary school in St Helens that is seeking an exceptional Year 6 Class Teacher to join their team from January 2027 on a long-term basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and experienced teacher who is passionate about helping pupils reach their full potential during one of the most important years of their primary education. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of raising attainment, delivering engaging lessons, and preparing pupils confidently for their transition to secondary school.

The school are welcoming applications from MPS 2 – MPS 6 teachers

As the Year 6 Class Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire and challenge learners.
• Prepare pupils effectively for SATs while maintaining a broad and balanced curriculum.
• Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Track, assess, and monitor pupil progress to ensure all children achieve their full potential.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and support staff to secure the best outcomes for pupils.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance, and achievement.

We are looking for a teacher who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Has substantial experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally in Year 6.
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum and end-of-Key Stage assessments.
• Has a proven ability to raise pupil attainment and support academic progress.
• Possesses excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
• Is passionate about delivering outstanding teaching and learning.
• Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
