Desian are currently working in partnership with a large primary school in South Liverpool to recruit an experienced administrator for a long-term temporary job starting on 1st September 2026.

 

The role is full-time 5 days a week working 08:30am – 4pm Monday to Friday. 

 

You will play a vital role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the school, providing excellent administrative support, and creating a welcoming environment for students, parents, and staff. The successful candidate will possess strong office skills, be proficient in various computer programmes, demonstrate exceptional organisational abilities and have previous experience using SIMs and working in a school.

 

Duties

  • Welcome visitors, students, and staff with professionalism and courtesy at the reception area
  • Manage incoming calls using excellent phone etiquette, directing enquiries appropriately
  • Maintain accurate student records through data entry and filing systems and update absences using SIMs
  • Organise schedules for classes, appointments, and meetings efficiently
  • Utilise Microsoft Office programmes and Google Workspace to prepare documents, reports and correspondence
  • Handle administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, and filing documents
  • Assist with enrolment processes and maintain up-to-date student information
  • Support teachers and management with clerical duties as required
  • Ensure the reception area remains tidy and welcoming at all times

 

Requirements 

  • Proven office experience or administrative background with an educational or similar environment (Knowledge of SIMs or Arbor is essential)
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar)
  • Experience with data entry and maintaining organised filing systems
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Good typing speed and accuracy for efficient document processing
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks or similar financial management software is desirable but not essential
  • Demonstrable clerical experience with attention to detail
  • Outstanding phone etiquette and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently whilst being a team player
  • Organised approach to managing multiple responsibilities in a busy environment
