Job Title: Early Years Teaching Assistant (Level 3 Qualified)

Contract: Full-time, temporary to permanent potential
Hours: 08:30 – 15:30, Monday to Friday (Term time only)
Start Date: Immediately following the upcoming half-term

 

Desian Education is seeking a dedicated and fully qualified Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant to join an early years team at a primary school in Halewood.

 

 

The Role

Ratio Contribution: Act as a qualified staff member meeting statutory EYFS ratio requirements.
Early Years Delivery: Support early learning, play-based development, and EYFS curriculum delivery.
Phonics & Early Literacy: Run small-group activities focusing on early reading, phonics, and number recognition.
Play-Based Learning: Set up interactive indoor and outdoor learning zones to spark curiosity and exploration.
SEN Support: Provide extra care and tailored guidance to pupils with SEN within the classroom.
Observation: Help track child development and maintain accurate learner profiles and observations.
Personal Care: Help children build independence with eating, dressing, and managing personal hygiene.

 

Requirements

Qualification: Must hold a recognised Level 3 Early Years qualification that contributes to EYFS ratios.
Experience: Proven experience in a UK primary school Early Years setting or a private nursery/childcare setting.
SEN Knowledge: Experience identifying or supporting additional needs in early childhood.
Compliance: Must hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to process a new one.
