Desian Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil in a primary school in Wallasey. This full-time role is due to start immediately after the half-term break and will continue for the remainder of the academic year.

The successful candidate will be working closely with a pupil who has been diagnosed with Autism. The role will involve providing consistent, tailored support both in and outside of the classroom, helping the pupil engage with learning and achieve their goals as set out in their Individual Learning Plan.

This is a full-time role supporting 8.30am-3.30pm Monday-Friday .

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with ASD
  • Follow and contribute to the pupil’s ILP
  • Support learning activities inside the classroom and during break times
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENDCo
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and structured learning environment

 

What You Will Need

  • Previous experience supporting children with ASD or SEND
  • A calm, patient, and supportive nature
  • The ability to build strong, trusting relationships
  • A good understanding of primary education
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
