KS2 Teaching Assistant – KS2 Interventions

Desian Education are working in partnership with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Winsford who are looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their KS2 team following the October half-term.

This is a varied opportunity for a confident Teaching Assistant who enjoys working across different year groups and is passionate about supporting pupils with additional learning and behavioural needs.

Your new role:

You will primarily be based across Years 4 and 5, while providing additional support across Years 3 and 6 when required.

Working closely with class teachers and the wider school team, you will provide targeted support to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and make positive progress.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils across the KS2 cohort, predominantly Years 4 and 5.
• Providing additional classroom support across Years 3 and 6 when required.
• Leading non-core subject interventions to enhance pupils’ wider learning.
• Delivering targeted 1:1 ALN/SEN support.
• Providing positive and consistent behaviour support.
• Supporting pupils to develop confidence, independence and engagement.
• Working closely with class teachers to identify and respond to individual needs.
• Adapting activities and resources to ensure pupils can access learning.
• Building positive relationships with pupils and encouraging positive attitudes towards school.

What you need to succeed:

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school.
• Strong experience supporting pupils across KS2.
• Experience working with pupils with SEN/ALN.
• Confidence providing positive behaviour support.
• Experience delivering interventions, ideally independently.
• The ability to work effectively across different year groups and classroom environments.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A patient, proactive and nurturing approach.
• A genuine commitment to helping pupils overcome barriers and achieve their potential.
