Desian Education are proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming single-form entry primary school in Warrington, who are looking to appoint an experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join their specialist designated provision.

The provision supports a small cohort of EYFS and KS1 pupils with specific ASD and sensory needs, providing a structured, nurturing and highly supportive learning environment tailored to each child’s individual requirements.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about SEN education and enjoys helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and develop their independence.

 

Your new role:

As a Teaching Assistant within the SEN provision, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to provide targeted support across the provision.

Your responsibilities will include:

·       Supporting pupils with ASD and sensory processing requirements across EYFS and KS1.

·       Leading and delivering targeted speech and communication interventions.

·       Supporting cognitive development and learning interventions.

·       Delivering positive and consistent behaviour support strategies.

·       Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required.

·       Helping pupils develop their communication, social and emotional skills.

·       Supporting pupils to engage with classroom activities and the wider curriculum.

·       Creating a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment.

·       Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team to monitor progress and adapt support.

·       Supporting pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive relationships.

 

What you need to succeed:

The successful candidate will be an experienced Level 2 qualified Teaching Assistant with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

You will ideally have:

·       Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.

·       Previous experience working with children with ASD/SEN.

·       Experience delivering speech, cognitive or behavioural interventions.

·       A calm, patient and nurturing approach.

·       An understanding of sensory needs and how these can impact learning and behaviour.

·       The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.

·       Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

·       A consistent and positive approach to behaviour management.
