- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils in Key Stage 1 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Support pupils with their academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Implement strategies and interventions in line with EHCPs and individual learning plans.
- Work closely with class teachers, SENDCOs, and other professionals to support pupil progress.
- Build positive relationships that encourage engagement, confidence, and independence.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a UK primary school setting.
- Experience supporting children with SEND, including needs such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, learning difficulties, and SEMH.
- A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Ability to provide recent references covering relevant childcare or educational experience.

About the Role
We are currently recruiting for multiple KS1 Teaching Assistants to work on a 1:1 basis with pupils who have additional needs across a number of welcoming and supportive primary schools in the St Helens area.
These are full-time, long-term opportunities starting in September and are ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants who are passionate about making a positive difference to children’s learning, development, and wellbeing.
