We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive primary school in St Helens for a dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistant to join their team ASAP on a full-time, long-term basis.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils in Key Stage 2 and helping them to achieve their full potential, particularly in preparation for Year 6 SATs.

 

The Role 

As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2, with a particular focus on Year 6 pupils. You will provide targeting interventions, supported SATs preparation, and assist pupils who require additional support, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils across Key Stage 2, including Year 6
  • Delivering small group and one-to-one interventions
  • Assisting with SATs preparation and boosting pupil attainment
  • Supporting pupils with SEN to access the curriculum effectively
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff
  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment

 

Requirements 

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a UK primary school setting
  • Strong experience supporting pupils within Key Stage 2
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Year 6 curriculum
  • Experience supporting pupils in preparation for SATs
  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils. staff and parents

 

Desirable Qualifications 

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification
  • Relevant education or childcare qualification
  • Additional SEN-related training or qualifications
