Desian Education are proud to be working in partnership with a Northwich-based specialist SEND primary school that has fantastic motorway links. This extremely inclusive and collaborative school require several experienced and motivated SEN teaching assistants to join their team on a temporary full-time basis with permanent contracts being considered for the right individuals.
Due to an increase in pupil numbers from September this school are looking for a minimum of 6 experienced teaching assistants to join their supportive and collaborative team of SEN specialists.
This fantastic schools supports pupils with a variety of SEND including ASC/ASD, PMLD, LD, SEMH, non-verbal and more with classes based on age ranges and capacity, meaning some classes may have pupils aged between 4 – 11. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals including SALT to promote the development of all pupils across the school.
Your new role:
· 1:1 SEN support for pupils with individual EHCP’s and specific needs
· Use of Makaton, PECs and other visual aids to support communication
· Utilisation of sensory rooms, play and therapy
· Working in collaboration with external professionals including SALT
· If you are based in EYFS and KS1 you may be required to support with personal and intimate care
What you need to succeed:
· Full “Right to Work” in the UK
· Relevant referenceable experience supporting children and young people with SEN in a classroom or residential environment
· Be able to commit to a long-term full-time position consisting of 32.5 hours per week
· A passion for supporting disadvantaged children
· An Enhanced Children’s DBS certificate or willingness to obtain
