Phonics Intervention Teacher

Desian Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Phonics Intervention Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Runcorn on a full-time, long-term basis.

This exciting opportunity is ideal for a passionate teacher who is committed to improving early reading outcomes and helping pupils develop the confidence and skills needed to become successful readers. The successful candidate will work closely with children across Key Stage 1 and lower Key Stage 2, delivering targeted phonics interventions to accelerate progress and close learning gaps.

Your New Role

• Deliver high-quality phonics intervention sessions to individuals and small groups.
• Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching approaches to meet individual needs.
• Work collaboratively with class teachers, SEND staff, and senior leaders to support pupil achievement.
• Use a systematic synthetic phonics approach to raise attainment and reading confidence.
  Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress effectively.
• Create an engaging and supportive learning environment that encourages success.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Have experience teaching phonics, ideally using recognised programmes such as Little Wandle, Read Write Inc., or similar schemes.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of early reading development and intervention strategies.
• Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Be passionate about ensuring every child reaches their full potential.
• Be committed, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a school team.
