Level 2 Teaching Assistant – KS2 Interventions

Desian Education are working in partnership with a large, three-form entry mainstream primary school in Warrington who are looking to appoint an experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support pupils across their KS2 cohort.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and proactive Teaching Assistant who enjoys delivering targeted support and helping pupils make progress across the core curriculum.

Your New Role:

Working across Years 3–6, you will work closely with class teachers to identify pupils requiring additional support and deliver targeted interventions designed to improve attainment and confidence.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils across the KS2 cohort.
• Working collaboratively with class teachers to identify learning needs.
• Planning and delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions.
• Supporting lower-attaining pupils across English and Maths.
• Delivering targeted support in reading, writing and numeracy.
• Reinforcing classroom learning through structured interventions.
• Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to class teachers.
• Adapting activities and resources to meet individual learning needs.
• Building positive relationships with pupils and encouraging confidence and independence.

What you need to succeed:

• Hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant or Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification.
• Have previous experience working within a mainstream primary school, ideally across KS2.
• Be confident supporting pupils with lower attainment.
• Have strong knowledge of the primary English and Maths curriculum.
• Have experience delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions.
• Be able to work effectively alongside class teachers and the wider school team.
• Have excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Be patient, proactive and committed to helping pupils achieve their potential.
