Are you an experienced Primary Teacher with a passion for supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teacher to join a specialist primary setting in Northwich from September 2026 on a long-term basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner who thrives on making a genuine difference in the lives of young people and is committed to creating positive outcomes for pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support.

 

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons to primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Working closely with support staff, families and external agencies, you will create a nurturing and structured environment where pupils feel safe, valued and motivated to succeed.

 

You will Have:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
    Have previous experience teaching within a primary setting.
    Demonstrate a strong understanding of SEMH needs and associated behaviours.
    Be confident in managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.
    Be patient, empathetic and committed to supporting vulnerable learners.
    Have excellent classroom management and communication skills.
    Be able to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.
    Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)
