We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and compassionate KS1 SEN Teacher to work in welcoming and supportive specialist school in Northwich from September 2026.

The school provides high-quality education for pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and associated social, emotional and sensory needs.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and nurturing teacher who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve success both academically and personally.

 

The Role

As a KS1 SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Develop personalised learning programmes and EHCP targets.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and parents/carers.
  • Use a range of specialist strategies to support communication, engagement and emotional regulation.
  • Monitor pupil progress and celebrate every achievement, no matter how small.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and support our positive and nurturing culture.

 

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience teaching within Key Stage 1.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of SEND and inclusive practice.
  • Has experience of working with pupils with Autism and complex learning needs, or a genuine desire to develop expertise in this area.
  • Is patient, resilient and committed to achieving the best outcomes for every child.
  • Possesses excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is passionate about making a real difference to the lives of young people.

What you will need: 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Recent experience teaching across EYFS or KS1
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)
