Reception Class Teaching Assistant

Desian Education are proud to be working in partnership with an extremely supportive and inclusive mainstream primary school in Winsford. Due to full intake for the reception class, this school is looking for an experience teaching assistant to join the EYFS on a full-time temporary basis from September to support the education and development of all pupils within the class.

Your new role:

As a teaching assistant within this school you will be joining the reception class, working in collaboration with and supporting the class teacher in all aspects of learning. You will support your new pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis, tailoring your approach to best suit individual needs and breaking down lessons on a case basis to ensure that each pupil reaches their full potential. As you will assisting in the delivery of the EYFS curriculum you will incorporate pupils key interests into all aspects of learning, not only to promote their engagement and focus but to ensure that they reach individual developmental targets and are fully ready for the KS1 transition. Other duties will include:

• Guided reading and story recall
• Guided writing including trace’s
• 1:1 and small group phonics using the RWI scheme

What you need to succeed:

• Full “Right to Work” in the UK
• Expert knowledge of the EYFS national curriculum
• Relevant referenceable classroom experience
• An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential
• A passion for supporting young learners
• An Enhanced Children’s DBS certificate or willingness to obtain
