Year 5/6 Class Teacher

Desian Education is currently partnering with a school in Wigan to recruit a year 5/6 class teacher for the summer term.

The post is initially for the summer term but could be extended in to the 2026/27 Academic year.

We are welcoming applications from ECTs and experienced teachers.

 

Your New Role:

• You will be working a in a large single form entry primary school in Wigan alongside an experience teaching and support team who work hard to create an environment where all children can achieve their goals.
• Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons in line with the KS2 national curriculum.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional well-being and academic progress.
• Support children preparing for KS2 SATs
• Work collaboratively with experienced TA’s and the wider school team to ensure consistent support for pupils.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting strategies as needed.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Recent experience teaching in upper KS2
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)
• Satisfactory References
