Desian Recruitment are proud to be supporting a Warrington-based mainstream high school with an outstanding reputation as they are looking to appoint a highly experienced and reliable teaching assistant to join the SEND department on a long-term full-time temporary basis, with a permanent appointment being considered for the correct individual. This school is easily accessible via public transport, and they are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.

Within this role you will be joining a highly experienced designated provision with the full support of the class teacher, SENCO and 6 other teaching assistants. You will be supporting a full class of SEN pupils, all of whom have individual EHCP’s and varying SEMH requirements consisting of communication, behavioural and emotional. You will offer comprehensive 1:1 support across the class with core duties that consist of:

·       Promoting the confidence, independence and inclusion of pupils by planning and delivering comprehensive interventions

·       Interventions and booster in core subjects including GCSE preparation

·       Completing ELSA interventions

·       Giving valid input and feedback during reviews and meetings

·       Direct liaison with the SENCO and pastoral manager on pupil progress and requirements

 

What you need to succeed

To be considered in your application, you must have full “Right to Work” in the UK, be willing to undergo full DBS screening, and:

·       Good knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 national curriculums

·       Extensive experience supporting SEMH including the delivery of ELSA

·       Be able to commit to a long-term full-time contract consisting of 32.5 hours per week

Year 2 Teaching Assistant

Are you someone who can think on their feet, use their initiative, and build strong, supportive relationships with children?

We are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 2 who is currently working at Foundation Stage level. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a nurturing approach and the ability to adapt learning experiences to meet individual needs.

 

About the Role

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to support a pupil who benefits from regular movement and sensory breaks throughout the day. There are no behavioural needs, but the ability to recognise when the pupil needs time away from the classroom is essential.

The pupil responds particularly well to sports and active learning, so an interest in physical activity or outdoor learning would be a great asset in this role.
