Desian Education are currently recruiting a dedicated and experienced Year 3 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with ADHD in a welcoming and supportive primary school in St Helen’s.

 

The Role:

The successful candidate will work closely with a Year 3 pupil on a one-to-one basis, providing tailored academic and emotional support to help them access the curriculum, remain engaged in learning, and prepare for the transition to secondary education.

This is a full-time role supporting 8.30am-3.30pm Monday-Friday.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with ADHD
  • Support learning across the KS2 curriculum, particularly in core subjects
  • Implement strategies to support focus, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly ADHD
  • A strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum
  • The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
