Desian Education are working in collaboration with an extremely supportive and vibrant mainstream primary school in St Helens as they are looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a full-time contract with an immediate start.

As a HLTA, you will play an integral role in the education and development of a full class of Year 1 pupils, delivering targeted interventions on a small group basis, and covering lessons in the teachers absence.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Small class group and whole-class delivering in Year 1
  • Working in collaboration with the class teacher for planning and assessment
  • Implementing positive behaviour strategies
  • Planning and delivering of small group and 1:1 interventions in core subjects such as phonics (RWI), numeracy and literacy
  • PPA cover

 

What you need to succeed

  • A HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
  • A passion for supporting young learners
  • Strong KS1 curriculum knowledge
  • Be able to commit for the remainder of the academic year
  • Have an enhanced children’s DBS on the update service or willing to obtain

Year 2 Teaching Assistant

Are you someone who can think on their feet, use their initiative, and build strong, supportive relationships with children?

We are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 2 who is currently working at Foundation Stage level. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a nurturing approach and the ability to adapt learning experiences to meet individual needs.

 

About the Role

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to support a pupil who benefits from regular movement and sensory breaks throughout the day. There are no behavioural needs, but the ability to recognise when the pupil needs time away from the classroom is essential.

The pupil responds particularly well to sports and active learning, so an interest in physical activity or outdoor learning would be a great asset in this role.
