Due to unprecedented demand from mainstream primary and SEND schools across St Helens, Desian Education are recruiting a large number of Educational Support Workers to support pupils with complex and profound needs.

The schools we are supporting require 1:1 support for pupils with a variety of diagnosis such as ASD, LD, PMLD, PDA, SEMH, non-verbal, etc. These schools are looking to appoint individuals with a strong care background, meaning this is the perfect opportunity for those that are looking to transition to a classroom environment.

 

What we are looking for

  • A genuine passion for supporting young learners
  • Experience supporting complex and profound needs (ASD, LD, SLD, SEMH, non-verbal is advantageous)
  • Be comfortable completing personal/intimate care (only required with younger year groups)
  • The ability to effectively manage behaviours
  • The ability to build strong constructive relationships

What you need to succeed

To be considered in your application you must have:

  • Full “Right to Work” in the UK
  • Be able to commit to a full-time contract consisting of 32.5 hours per week
  • Be willing to undergo an enhanced children’s DBS screening
