Desian Education are proud to be supporting a Runcorn-based mainstream primary school that is easily accessible via public transport and is also t the heart of it’s local community as they are looking to appoint an experienced and motivated teaching assistant for a full-time long-term contract.

At this school you will play an integral part in the education of pupils with diagnosed SEN within a KS1 resource provision. All of your pupils have SEMH ranging from behavioural, communication and emotional needs.

You will take a pupil-centred approach to education as to ensure that the individual physical, emotional and attainment needs are met in a stimulating and engaging learning environment. Other duties will include:

·       ELSA interventions (emotional, communication, behavioural and self-esteem)

·       Implementing positive behaviour strategies (traffic light systems, DOJO/reward charts, Team Teach, positive reinforcement, etc)

·       Interventions and boosters in core subjects

·       Direct liaison with the head and SENCO on pupil progress and further requirements

·       Working in collaboration with external professionals including educational psychologists, occupational therapists and other professionals

 

What you need to succeed

To be considered in your application you must have full “Right to Work” in the UK, be willing to undergo full DBS screening and:

·       Have relevant referenceable experience working with children between the ages of 5 – 11

·       Have experience working with SEN (Special Educational Needs), SEMH is preferable

·       Be willing to undergo Team Teach training

·       Experience delivering ELSA is advantageous

·       Be able to commit to a long-term full-time contract

Year 2 Teaching Assistant

Are you someone who can think on their feet, use their initiative, and build strong, supportive relationships with children?

We are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 2 who is currently working at Foundation Stage level. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a nurturing approach and the ability to adapt learning experiences to meet individual needs.

 

About the Role

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to support a pupil who benefits from regular movement and sensory breaks throughout the day. There are no behavioural needs, but the ability to recognise when the pupil needs time away from the classroom is essential.

The pupil responds particularly well to sports and active learning, so an interest in physical activity or outdoor learning would be a great asset in this role.
