Desian Education are currently recruiting a dedicated and experienced Year 6 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with ADHD in a welcoming and supportive primary school in Ellesmere Port.

 

The Role:

The successful candidate will work closely with a Year 6 pupil on a one-to-one basis, providing tailored academic and emotional support to help them access the curriculum, remain engaged in learning, and prepare for the transition to secondary education.

This is a full-time role supporting 8.30am-3.30pm Monday-Friday.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with ADHD
Support learning across the KS2 curriculum, particularly in core subjects
Implement strategies to support focus, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour
Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly ADHD
  • A strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum
  • The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)
