KS1 Teaching Assistant – St Helens

Location: Knowsley

Start Date – ASAP

Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term 

We are currently working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Knowsley that is looking to appoint a dedicated KS1 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and caring individual who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development within Key Stage 1.

The Role 

– Supporting pupils across KS1 in the classroom

– Working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging learning activities

– Providing targeted intervention support to individuals and small groups

– Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and progress

– Assisting with classroom preparation and behaviour management

– Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

– Previous experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within KS1

– Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential

– A positive, proactive and flexible approach

– Strong communication and interpersonal skills

– Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

– Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
