1:1 Teaching Assistant – Reception

Desian Education is working in partnership with a range primary schools across Sefton who are looking for a dedicated and nurturing 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Reception-aged pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

📘 The Role at a Glance

·       Location: Crosby

·       Position: 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Reception

·       Hours: Part Time – 2 days a week

·       Working Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm

·       Setting: Primary School – EYFS

🗓️What Will Your Day Involve?

·       Providing dedicated 1:1 support in line with the child’s individual EHCP.

·       Supporting classroom learning activities and adapting resources to meet individual needs.

·       Encouraging emotional regulation, positive behaviour and social development.

·       Building a trusting relationship with the pupil to help develop confidence, independence and engagement.

·       Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals to ensure consistent support.

·       Monitoring progress and contributing to discussions and review meetings to help shape the child’s ongoing development.

✅The Person We’re Looking For

·       Previous experience working with children within an EYFS or primary school setting.

·       Experience supporting children with SEND and an understanding of EHCPs.

·       A patient, empathetic and proactive approach, with the ability to adapt to the needs of an individual child.

·       Strong communication and teamwork skills, allowing you to work effectively alongside teaching staff and other professionals.

·       A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification, although equivalent experience will also be considered.
