The setting are looking to appoint an experienced and qualified Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated EYFS team on a full-time, long-term temporary basis, with the position expected to run until at least the end of the academic year.

Your New Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work within the nursery alongside an experienced EYFS team, helping to create a nurturing, engaging and inclusive environment where every child is supported to develop and thrive.

You will build strong, positive relationships with pupils and work closely with teachers to support their learning, development and wellbeing.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Supporting pupils across the nursery and wider EYFS setting.
  • Promoting positive relationships, independence and confidence.
  • Supporting children through forest school and OPAL learning.
  • Developing pupils’ fine motor, social and emotional skills.
  • Supporting guided reading and early writing activities.
  • Using learning through play to promote learning and development.
  • Providing additional support to children with SEN, including pupils with ASD and mobility needs.
  • Supporting pupils during break and lunchtime.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other members of the EYFS team.
  • Creating a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment for all children.

 

The setting has a high proportion of pupils with additional needs, making this an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about SEN and enjoys working in a child-centred environment.

With a strong focus on outdoor learning and learning through play, no two days will be the same, giving you the opportunity to develop your EYFS experience while making a genuine difference to young children’s development.

 

What You Need to Succeed:

 

  • Full Right to Work in the UK.
  • At least NVQ Level 2 Children’s Care, Learning and Development or equivalent.
  • Referenceable experience supporting children aged 0–5 years.
  • Previous experience working with SEN is advantageous, particularly ASD.
  • A willingness to undergo an Enhanced Children’s DBS check.
  • A patient, nurturing and proactive approach.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children in their early years.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
