Are you a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher with experience supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

We are working with a welcoming and supportive Primary School in Wigan seeking an outstanding SEMH Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine impact on the lives of children who require additional emotional and behavioural support to thrive both academically and personally.

 

As a SEMH Teacher you will:

 

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Support children with SEMH needs, helping them to develop confidence, resilience and independence.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, parents and external agencies.
  • Implement strategies to support positive behaviour and emotional regulation.

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching within a Primary setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of SEMH needs and behaviour management strategies.
  • A patient, resilient and empathetic approach.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to promoting positive outcomes for all pupils.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)
  • Satisfactory References
