SEMH Primary Teacher – Wigan

We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Primary Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive specialist setting in Wigan from September on a long-term temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with pupils who require additional support with their social, emotional and mental health needs, helping them to achieve both academically and personally.

 

The Role

As an SEMH Primary Teacher, you will:

• Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs.
• Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Implement effective behaviour management strategies that support individual needs.
• Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and pupil development plans.
• Work collaboratively with support staff and external professionals to achieve positive outcomes for learners.The Ideal Candidate

 

The Ideal Teacher Will Have:

 

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Has experience teaching within a primary setting.
• Experience working with SEMH, SEND, behaviour support, alternative provision or specialist settings is desirable.
• Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Is patient, adaptable and committed to supporting vulnerable pupils.
• Has a genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
