Primary Tutor (KS2)

Make a Real Difference to a Young Learner

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Tutor to provide tailored 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil in Widnes. This rewarding role is ideal for a qualified teacher, experienced tutor, or education professional who is passionate about helping children build confidence and achieve their full potential.

The Role

You will deliver engaging, personalised lessons that support the pupil’s academic progress in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum. Working closely with the family and any relevant professionals, you will adapt your teaching approach to meet the child’s individual learning needs and encourage a positive attitude towards learning.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging 1:1 lessons for a Year 3 pupil.
• Support progress in core subjects, particularly English and Maths.
• Assess learning needs and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Build a positive and supportive relationship with the pupil.
• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback.
• Create a safe, nurturing and motivating learning environment.

 

Requirements

• Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within KS2.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) desirable but not essential.
• Strong understanding of the National Curriculum.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, reliable and able to inspire confidence in young learners.
• Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
