Desian Education are proud to be supporting a Warrington-based high school that is easily accessible via public transport. This extremely inclusive and supportive mainstream high school are looking for a dedicated and reliable teaching assistant to join their team on a full-time temporary basis from September, subject to funding this role will last the full academic year.
This is an extremely rewarding opportunity where you will play a vital role in the education of specific pupils with SEN.
Your new role:
As a teaching assistant within this school you will report into and work closely with the SENCO to support pupils with specific SEND and ensure that they reach their full potential. You will be supporting a number of pupils across KS3 and KS4 on a 1:1 basis with needs that including SEMH, high functioning ASC, and LD. You will tailor you approach to best suit individual needs, ensuring that each pupils EHCP and learning needs are met, and that they are treated as the individual they are, in turn this will aid in build strong constructive relationships. A number of pupils will at times present challenging behaviours, this is not a personal attack but a cry for help or means of communication. To support this you will also implement an array of positive behaviour strategies and liaise/support the reset team.
What you need to succeed:
· Full “Right to Work” in the UK
· An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential
· Good knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 national curriculums
· Experience supporting pupils with SEN is highly advantageous
· An Enhanced Children’s DBS certificate or willingness to obtain
