Desian Education is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 1 (KS1) pupils in a vibrant primary school located in St Helens.
This full-time, long-term role starts in September and will run until the end of the academic year, offering excellent stability and a rewarding daily environment.
The Role
Target Group: Supporting a few specific pupils within KS1 classrooms.
Special Needs: Assisting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD.
Academic Focus: Helping pupils access the curriculum through tailored support.
Social Development: Promoting inclusive play and positive peer interactions.
Behaviour Management: Implementing individual visual schedules and calming strategies.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: Previous experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, or complex needs.
Knowledge: Understanding of KS1 curriculum and early childhood development.
Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, and a nurturing approach.
Adaptability: Ability to think on your feet and manage changing behaviours.
Qualifications: A relevant childcare or teaching assistant qualification is preferred but not essential.
