SEN Teaching Assistant – SEMH

Desian Education are proud to be working in partnership with an extremely inclusive primary school in Runcorn that is easily accessible via public transport as they require an experienced and reliable teaching assistant to join their team on a full-time temporary basis.

This is an extremely exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded primary schools’ SEN team. This position will last the remainder of the academic year.

 

Your new role

As a teaching assistant within this school, you will be joining an experienced and supportive SEN cohort, working in collaboration with the SENCO and class teacher to promote the engagement, attendance and emotional development of a small class of 8 pupils with SEMH. You will:

• Support with ELSA
• Implement an array of positive behaviour strategies
• Delivering bespoke well-being sessions to boost confidence, emotional regulation and self-esteem
• Working in collaboration with external professionals

 

What you need to succeed

• Full “Right to Work” in the UK
• Experience delivering or knowledge of ELSA
• A minimum of 40-days referenceable classroom experience within the last 2 years
• An Enhanced Children’s DBS check or willingness to obtain
